SPW 232 is a German Support unit.

The cross-country performance of the 6-wheeled armoured cars was deemed insufficient, so a 8-wheeled armoured car. SPW 232 was the command variant of Schwerer Panzerspähwagen Sd. Kfz. 231 (8-rad) as schwerer Panzerspähwagen (Fu) Sd. Kfz. 232 (8-rad). This armored car was equipped with additional medium range radio sets and a large frame aerial.
In the Panzer Divisions and Panzer Grenadier Divisions a Panzer-Aufklarungsabteilung the reconnsiance element of the Division has one Panzerspahkompanie using three SPW 232 in the Heavy Platoon.
