For the Steel Division II unit see SD2:Panzer II Luchs

Panzer II Luchs is a German Tank unit.

Although Sd.Kfz. 121 (VK 6.22 before adoption) was intended to be a stop-gap tank before the arrival of more advanced Panzer III and Panzer IV models, it eventually became the principal light tank of the Reich for most of World War II, with production ceasing in 1943. The Luchs was the exception, with 100 built between September 1943 and January 1944. It was a powerful light reconnaissance tank, with a Schachtellaufwerk road wheel arrangement, a powerful engine allowing it to reach 60 km/h, and a 2 cm KwK 38 paired with a single 7.92mm MG 34 machinegun.

1 kompanie Panzerspahkompanie of the Panzer-Aufklarung-Abteilung 9 of the 9. Panzer are one of the few unit in West Front equipped with Panzer II Luchs. This kompanie had one Luchs in Headqurters and four platoons of six Luchs.

  • Encountered as a target tank in the tutorial, the Luchs is not a serious challenger. Destroy it at a distance.
  • In combat as the 9. Panzer, the Luchs is a monster in close quarters. The combination of a 20mm autocannon and a machine gun makes it a threat to infantry and it shreds halftracks like there's no tomorrow. It can even panic tanks close up, retreating when odds turn against it due to its excellent speed.
