For the Steel Division II unit see SD2:Osttruppen

Osttruppen is a German Infantry unit.

A mixture of conscripts and volunteers from the occupied territories of Eastern Europe, the auxiliary soldiers of the Osttruppen were a mixed blessing for the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. On one side, they provided the Nazi empire with warm bodies to fill in gaps in the frontline. On the other, their uneven training, cultural and linguistic barriers, coupled with poor leadership and equipment resulted in a highly uneven performance against Allied forces.

716. Infanterie had three Ost-Bataillon 439, 441 and 642. Ost-Bataillon 439 was attached to Grenadier-Regiment 726 and Ost-Bataillon 642 was attached Grenadier-Regiment 736. When 352. Infanterie shorten 716. Infanterie's responsibility elements of the 716. Infanterie including Ost-Bataillon 439 was detached to serve under 352. Infanterie command.

Osttruppen are the cheap version of grenadiers, they have the exact same equipment with the only difference being their 5 points lower cost, less ammunition, and their Disheartened trait. They mostly come in high availability per card. While their firepower isnt that bad they mostly get pinned down quite easily, this makes them rather ineffective in Infantry vs infantry fight but the faster pin down on the other hand gives them quite a good position as meatshield.
