M7 HMC is a United States Artillery unit.

US Army had a requirement with a self-propelled artillery vehicle that had enough armor and fully tracked. The vehicle that was become M7 was based off M3 Lee chassis.
The 3rd Armored and 4th Armored like all American Armored Division has three Armored Field Artillery Battalion each. Unlike their British and German counterparts, the American Armored Division had all of artillery component mechanized.
In Demi-Brigade SAS, M7 M7 HMC represents Patton's armored columns breaking through the German lines and moving to support the French resistance and SAS forces.
1st Infantry had the 62nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion attached during the Normandy landing.
