Leichtgeschütz 42 was a recoilless gun produced by Rheinmetall between 1942 and 1945, providing paratrooper and mountain units with an effective artillery support weapon.
The Abteilung of the Fallschirm-Artillerie-Regiment 3 was equipped with six LG 42 along with four more le.F.H. 18.
