==Overview ==
Unlike the British Reconnaissance Regiment's Assault Troop and the German  Panzer-Aufklarungsabteilung's Panzer-Aufklarungskompanie, US Cavalry Squadrons do not have a designated dismounted element. The Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanized has three Cavalry Reconnaissance Troops each with three Reconnaissance Platoons divided between Armored Car Section with 3 [[M8]] and Scout Section of 6 Jeeps three carrying M1919 light machine gun the other three carrying 60mm Mortars. Cavalry Scout represent dismounted Cavalrymen leaving their vehicle in storage to scout on foot.
