Arm. LMG Rifles is a United States Infantry unit.

Each Armored Infantry Platoon has a LMG Squad. The LMG squad had two M1919A4 or later A6 Browning light machine guns. M1919A6 was a attempt to convert the M1919 design to a light machine gun to replace the BAR since the BAR is less effective in the sustained fire role with a fixed barrel and 20-round magazine. The modifications include lighter barrel, buttstock, pistol grip, carrying handle, flash suppressor, and bipod.
