28. Jäger was issued MP 44 with some Jäger squads equipped with the new weapons. 28. Jäger has 49th Jäger Regiment and 83rd Jäger Regiment each with three battalions. These regiments were designed to fight in adverse terrain like their Gebirgasdivision counterparts but were equipped with more motorization and less mountain equipment.
