Spähtrupp is a German Recon unit in Steel Division II.
Background[]
Each Grenadier Regiment has a bicycle Platoon in the Regimental Headquarters that serves as the regiment reconnaissance asset. While the Pz.Grenadier Regiment has a Reconnaissance Platoon.
20. Panzer's Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung 20 was at that time in Tr.Ub.Pl. Wildflecken for reorganization and rearming so the Panzer Division had to depend on regimental Reconnaissance platoons.[1]
The Aufklarungs Abteilung in the Panzer and Panzergrenadier Divisions has two to three reconnaissance companies mounted in either Sd.Kfz. 250/1 in Panzer DIvisions or motorized in Panzergrenadier Divisions.
