Each Soviet Infantry Division along with the Mechanized and Tank Corps has a Sapper Battalion with three to two sapper companies.

9-ya Gvard. Kavalerii had 111th Separate Guards Sapper Squadron along with engineering Platoon in each cavalry regiment.

Strategy

Saperi (PPSh) was originally a CQC squad with equipped with SMGs and HE along with anti-tank capability. Patch 1.4 took away the HE but gave another anti-tank round.
