Background[]
The primary parachute and glider assault force was made up of 500th SS Parachute Battalion. This battalion was divided into three parachute and six glider-borne assault groups. SS-Fallschirmjägerbataillon 500 was a mixture of volunteers and penal troops. This squad is a full SMG squad formed à la Soviet.
