Osttruppen is a German Infantry unit in Steel Division II.

A mixture of conscripts and volunteers from the occupied territories of Eastern Europe, the auxiliary soldiers of the Osttruppen were a mixed blessing for the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS. On one side, they provided the Nazi empire with warm bodies to fill in gaps in the frontline. On the other, their uneven training, cultural and linguistic barriers, coupled with poor leadership and equipment resulted in a highly uneven performance against Allied forces.

716. Infanterie has three Ost-Bataillons Ost-Bataillon 439 serving as IV. Bataillon/Grenadier-Regiment 726, Ost-Bataillon 642 serving asIV. Bataillon/Grenadier-Regiment 736 and Ost-Bataillon 441.

Cannon fodders have its own use[ | ]
Osttruppen are definitely my last choice. These men are so easy to break down, I have to attach all kinds of Führers with them, to boost the morale. Don`t leave them to face enemies alone, don`t leave their flanks without coverage, don`t count on them under enemies` high pressure. In all, u need more troops to wipe these sorry asses` mess. But I do have usage on them. When I launch a massive assault or want to detect enemies` location, I will send these cannon fodders. Trust me, you will feel no sorry when enemies` bombardment falling on their head, while you calmly order your bomber or artillery aiming to enemies` comprised units. One east volunteer trading for one soviet elite, what a worthy strategy.
