Me 410 B-2/U2 Close Air Support is a German Air unit in Steel Division II.

Background[ | ]

Me 410 was a Zerstorer (heavy fighter) and fighter-bomber developed basing on the notorious Me 210. A lengthened fuselage and automatic leading edge slats compensated for the predecessor's risky handling, while the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 603A engines greatly increased the 410's performance in all aspects, on top of increasing its payload capacity to the point where additional bombs had to be mounted under the wings to fully exploits its capacity. Upon its introduction in 1943, the well armed Me 410 instantly gained popularity with Axis pilots, proving themselves to be effective night fighters, bomber destroyers, and recon planes - particularly in the late stages of the war, when they had to be reallocated due to increasing Allied air superiority.

The B-series was largely unchanged from the preceding A-series, except for minor changes to the armament: The 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns were replaced with the more powerful 13mm MG 131 machine guns. As with the A-series, Umrust-Bausatz (factory conversions) were used to tailor the aircraft's performance for its intended missions. U-2 signifies a fighter customized for its heavy fighter duties.
