BT-7 was the last in the series of Fast Tanks Быстроходный танк, Bystrokhodny tank a pre war design. These tank took heavy looses during the outset of Barbarossa due to combat losses, logistic issues and maintenance issues. The BT-7 design lead to the T-34.
These tanks remained in declining numbers due to production of T-34 and delivery of lend lease Sherman. 91st Guards Separate Tank Regiment was equipped with a mixture of M3 and BT-5 and BT-7. This regiment supported 126-y L. Gornostrelkovy Korpus

BT-7s are cheap, fast and pack a decent punch. They're much more useful in groups and alongside infantry.
