Background
Kradschutzen or motorcycle troops were in original reconnaissance battalion of early Panzer Divisions. These troops replaced their motorcycles with light cars and halftracks.
Panzerverband Strachwitz's Panzer Brigade Gross has a Kradschutzen-Kompanie in SS-Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung Gross.
Each panzergrenadier regiment has a motorcycle platoon in the regiment command company to service as the regimental reconnaissance element.
