The Taylrocraft Auster was a militarized British variant of the American Taylor Cub, developed for use as an Air Observation Post for scouting and directing artillery fire. The Auster Mark III, IV and V were issued to twelve Royal Air Force (RAF), one Polish and three Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Air Observation Post (AOP) Squadrons.
