In later 1942, Sd.Kfz.222 were used in the reconnaissance elements of the 1st Romanian Armored Division. With the Olivenbaum deliveries and the planned motorization or the Cavakry, Sd. Kfz. 222 remained in use with 1 Blindata "România Mare" and entered service in 5 Cavalerie Motorizata.
"Gen. Niculescu"/ "Juniper" Armored Group supported 9 Infanterie. This armored group had a recon group.
