Podv. Gruppa Vyborg

Podv. Gruppa Vyborg is a Soviet A-rated armored division in Steel Division II: Fate of Finland. The Podv. Gruppa Vyborg was one of the most powerful of the Red Army’s “mobile” armored groups in the Karelia sector. Kept in reserve by the 21st Army to exploit a breakthrough when needed, the makeshift formation was chiefly built around the 220th Tank Brigade.

The group is equipped with a wide range of tank models, from obsolete T-26 light tanks (including assault gun and flamethrower variants) to the more powerful IS-2, with T-34/76, KV-1 and even lend-lease Churchill’s filling out its ranks. Made up almost entirely out of armored units, its infantry is sparse and often highly specialized. The same goes for the battlegroup’s artillery, split between light mortars and heavy corps guns.

Podv. Gruppa Vyborg is an unbalanced formation, fielding some very powerful units, but at the expense of other combat troops.
