With the experiences of the 2nd New-Zealand with British Armor Support, 4th New Zealand Infantry Brigade was converted into 4th New Zealand Armoured Brigade. Among the three Armored Regiments of the 4th New Zealand Armored Brigade was the 22nd Infantry Battalion which were converted into the Motor Infantry configuration. This battalion had three companies of four infantry platoons with each infantry platoon mounted on two trucks.
