Morskaya Gruppa Bakhtina is a Soviet Infantry division in Steel Division II: Black Sunday. The Morskaya Gruppa Bakhtina was formed from Black Sea Fleet naval brigades and infantry troops from the 46th Army. Named after its commander, this formation established two bridgeheads across the Dniester in the initial assault into Romania, and held them successfully against all Axis attempts to dislodge them.
The Morskaya Gruppa Bakhtina depends on the OSNAZ VMF, the Red Navy’s commandos, and can count on off-map rocket support from MLRS ships. The old, but capable, planes from the Black Sea Fleet’s Air Force make up the air component of this division, fielding British Spitfire Mk. Vs and Mig-3s.
The Morskaya Gruppa Bakhtina fields experienced naval infantry, backed up by powerful artillery, but lacks tanks and should tread carefully on the battlefield.
