Bedford is a British Transport unit, available from Phase A onward.

Overview[ | ]

Bedford QL are the most common 3ton 4 X 4 in service. Unlike earlier GS types, Bedford QL had Four wheel drive, forward control enclosed cab, and a standardized engine. Production of the Bedford QL started in 1940 with series production in 1941 and ending with 52,248 in 1945. Bedford QL along other new productions replaced the vehicles lost in France. The Beford QLT is the troop transporting version. These trucks were modified by extending the chassis, replacing the fuel tank behind the cab with two fuel tanks on either side of the chassis, and moving the spare wheel to a carrier under the chassis rear end. Beford QLT can carry 29 people plus driver and front passenger. Motor Battalion has a organic RASC troop carrying platoon with Bedford QLT troop carriers.
