The Cowboy

Texans & Oklahomans (hence the letters 'T.O.' on their shoulder patch which led to the nickname 'Though Ombres') from 90th ID had the unhealhy habit in Normandy of always being present in the hottest places : elements from the division both stormed Utah Beach on D-Day, stormed the Merdered River, fought for Saint-Lô and still happened to be the one division closing the Falaise pocket with the Poles ! Of course, they paid such intense activity with one of the highest casualty rate among American divisions on the ETO.
