'''{{PAGENAME}}''' is a German Armored division in ''Steel Division II: Death on the Vistula''.  Having only recently been brought up to Panzerdivision status, the 5. SS-Panzerdivision “Wiking” was one of the first substantial reinforcements to arrive east. Tasked with preventing Warsaw from falling to the Soviets, the veteran foreign volunteers of this formation inflicted a costly setback to the Red Army around Kovel.

Reconstituted in a hurry, the “Wiking” has an entire armored company equipped with [[StuG IV (SD2)|StuG IV]]<nowiki/>s instead of [[Panzer IV H (SD2)|Panzer IV]]<nowiki/>s. Uncustomary, a [[Bergepanther]] can be deployed into combat as a heavy prime mover. Furthermore, scavenged Soviet materiel fills its ranks, including [[Panzer T-34/85(r)|Beute T-34/85]]<nowiki/>s and [[Jagdpanzer SU-76(r)|SU-76]]<nowiki/>s. The Luftwaffe can count on the brand-new, long-nosed [[FW 190 D-9 Dogfighter|Fw 190D-9 fighter]] to achieve aerial superiority.

The 5. SS Panzerdivision “Wiking” fields a large amount of infantry which offsets the absence of hard-hitting tanks, allowing it to still form a very resilient and powerful battlegroup.
