5. Gebirgsjäger is an Axis C-rated Infantry division in Steel Division II, available in the Tribute to the Liberation of Italy pack. The 5. Gebirgsjäger was part of the renowned German Alpine troops - elite soldiers focused on mountain warfare. Having established themselves well on Crete, the Eastern Front, and Monte Cassino, the formation proved its worth again during combat at Gemmano - the Monte Cassino of the Adriatic - in the summer of 1944.
Lavishly equipped with SMGs and well trained, the battlegroup’s Gebirgsjäger infantry (including support weapons) feature the Raider trait. For much-needed firepower, the 5. Gebirgsjäger calls on captured Italian equipment, such as the Autoblinda 41 armored car, Semovente assault guns, ...
