1e DFL is an Allied infantry division in Steel Division II Nemesis Division series. The 1e Division Française Libre (1st Free French Division) was arguably one of the most famous Allied French combat formations.
Made up of Free Frenchmen who refused to lay down arms after 1940, the multinational veteran division fought numerous battles (Norway, Middle East, North Africa, Italy) before finally returning to metropolitan France with Operation Dragoon.
Many different nationalities of the French colonial empire can be found with this motorized infantry battlegroup. From elite Légionnaires, Polynesian sailors, and North African and Senegalese Tirailleurs, the division’s infantry squads are plentiful and powerful.
The 1e Division Française Libre lacks AA and AT units and only has limited armored and tank destroyer forces. Fortunately, air support is substantial, due to the Free French Air Force and British carrier-borne planes.
The 1e Division Française Libre excels as a boots-on-the-ground battlegroup thanks to its battle-hardened and versatile infantry.
