122. Infanterie is a German Infantry division in Steel Division II: Fate of Finland. Rushed to support Finland’s desperate fight for survival, the German 122. Infanterie-Division was the strongest Axis infantry division in the Karelia sector. Its timely arrival contributed greatly to the crucial Finnish victory at Tali-Ihantala.
As a regular infantry division, the 122. nonetheless has a few aces up its sleeve, one being powerful PaK 43 Krupp anti-tank guns and organic StuG IV. The formation is also bolstered by StuG-Brigade 303 as well as several attached Finnish army battalions, including Estonian volunteers.
Finally, this battlegroup can rely on the efficient Luftwaffe support of Detachment Kuhlmey, fielding fighters and fighter bombers to compensate for its very light organic AA defenses.
The 122. Infanterie-Division can form a strong and versatile battlegroup with potent anti-tank units and heavy air cover, allowing its soldiers to deal with most situations and opponents.
